Having recently stayed at the hotel following its reopening under new family ownership, I found the experience to be a mixed bag in terms of value. the room itself was spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and a modern shower room, which added to the overall practicality of the stay. the proximity to both the highway and train station was undoubtedly convenient for getting around. However, it's essential to highlight that certain safety features, such as smoke detectors and sprinkler systems, were missing in some rooms during my visit, which is a major concern considering modern safety regulations. The staff was friendly and helpful, contributing positively to the stay. the ambiance of the hotel, although somewhat dated, added a unique charm that resonated well with the historical depth of the Ruhr region. Considering the very reasonable pricing, I found the overall value proposition to be acceptable given the idiosyncrasies one might encounter. Ultimately, for those seeking a budget-friendly stay with a touch of nostalgia, this hotel could be a suitable choice.
